PERFORMANCE
The 812 Competizione A uses a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 830 hp and revving to 9,500 rpm. Ferrari reduced the weight of several engine components and redesigned the intake and exhaust systems to make the V12 respond faster at high revs. Rear-wheel steering works independently on each wheel to improve agility, while the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox has been recalibrated for faster shifts. The result is one of Ferrari's most focused front-engined V12 road cars.
dESIGN
The Competizione A looks different from a standard 812 because much of its bodywork was redesigned around aerodynamics. The front air intakes, bonnet blade, rear diffuser and side elements manage airflow around the car at speed. The removable targa roof gives the Aperta its defining feature, allowing the V12 to be heard directly from the cabin. Inside, carbon fibre, Alcantara and a driver-focused layout keep the connection with the standard 812 while giving the car a more purposeful finish.
OUR TAKE
This 812 Competizione A is particularly special because of its Tailor Made specification. The exterior is finished in Bianco Hisada, a bespoke paint created for this car, with Rosso Corsa 20150 detailing and extensive exposed carbon fibre across the front air vents, rear diffuser, wheel caps and interior. Inside, Ferrari chose Rosso Siam SC 127 leather, black Alcantara and white contrast stitching, with dedicated Tailor Made details throughout the cabin. Racing seats, four-point harnesses, carbon fibre trim and the dedication plate complete a specification that feels much closer to a one-off commission than a regular production configuration. Combined with the 830 hp naturally aspirated V12, 9,500 rpm redline and production limited to 599 cars, this is exactly the type of modern Ferrari where the specification matters as much as the model itself.
