PERFORMANCE
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 585 hp and 800 Nm, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. Compared with the Mercedes-AMG SL 63, the Maybach has a different suspension setup, additional sound insulation and a quieter exhaust system. The changes make it more comfortable for long journeys while retaining the performance of a V8 roadster.
dESIGN
This 2026 example is finished in MANUFAKTUR Opalite White Magno, a matte white paint, with a matching MANUFAKTUR Crystal White Exclusive Nappa leather interior. The Maybach-specific grille, chrome detailing and redesigned exterior elements distinguish it from the AMG SL. Inside, the traditional rear seats have been replaced by a two-seat configuration, giving the cabin a more spacious layout. The retractable soft top, Maybach detailing and white leather upholstery complete a particularly distinctive specification.
OUR TAKE
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is the first two-seat roadster to carry the Maybach name, and that makes it an interesting addition to the brand. Based on the Mercedes-AMG SL, it retains the 585 hp twin-turbo V8 but introduces a different approach to comfort, with revised suspension, additional insulation and a quieter exhaust.
This particular example has a specification that deserves attention. The MANUFAKTUR Opalite White Magno exterior has a matte finish that works particularly well with the Maybach chrome detailing. Inside, the Crystal White Exclusive Nappa leather creates a consistent colour combination throughout the cabin.
Unlike the AMG SL, the Maybach is strictly a two-seater, with a redesigned rear section and a more luxurious interior. The soft-top roof allows the V8 to be enjoyed in the open air, while the additional insulation makes longer journeys more comfortable.
With 0 km indicated, European specifications and a full MANUFAKTUR colour combination, this is an unusual alternative to the Bentley Continental GTC or Rolls-Royce Dawn. It offers a different interpretation of a luxury convertible, combining Maybach craftsmanship with the mechanical platform of an AMG roadster.
