PERFORMANCE
The 599 GTB uses a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 612 bhp and 608 Nm, paired with Ferrari’s six-speed F1 SuperFast2 transmission. The HGTE package makes an important difference: the suspension was revised, the ride height lowered and the steering recalibrated for a more direct response. Carbon-ceramic brakes, F1-Trac and the E-Diff complete a package capable of 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a 330 km/h top speed.
dESIGN
This car was special ordered in Nero Bahrain with Oro Baviera accents, a very unusual combination for a 599. The HGTE package adds specific 20-inch wheels, exterior details and sports exhaust finishers. Inside, Nero Alcantara with Giallo trim is combined with carbon-fibre elements, a carbon steering wheel, sports seats and aluminium pedals. The specification gives the car a much more focused appearance than a standard 599 GTB.
OUR TAKE
This 599 is interesting because the HGTE package changes more than the appearance of the car. Ferrari lowered and revised the suspension, sharpened the steering and changed the exhaust to give the 599 a more focused character while keeping the 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 and its 612 bhp.
The specification makes this example particularly unusual. Nero Bahrain with Oro Baviera accents is paired with a Nero Alcantara and Giallo interior, carbon-fibre trim and the HGTE wheels. It is a dark, understated configuration, but the gold and yellow details immediately identify it as something different.
With 24,500 km, GCC specifications, no reported accidents and service history, this is the type of 599 we like: a strong factory specification, the right performance options and one of Ferrari’s great naturally aspirated front-engined V12s.
